Back at school, the security guard spat at me.

Now all my information is posted online, including which college and class I'm in, as well as detailed information about my family.

The security guard recognized me easily because of my dad.

My classmates at school pointed and whispered about me, and a girl from some other college ran over and slapped me.

I didn't fight back.

I walked straight to the counselor's office.

From the counselor to the dean, every teacher talked to me one by one. Several times, they instinctively said, "Bring your parents."

Then they realized my family is no longer there and sighed.

"I know about your experience, and I understand, including the incident where you donated money."

"But, you can't lose faith in society just because of one terrible thing. Even if you think this incident is fake or a publicity stunt, you can't test people's hearts in that way. Do you understand this principle?"

The dean sighed and gave me his final lecture.

After listening to his words, I nodded.

"The school's disciplinary decision has been made. You can't keep your student status. You should drop out. Since your family is no longer here, you should go through the process yourself tomorrow."

"You also need to go to the police station as soon as possible; they are getting impatient."

I nodded again and remained silent.

When I lay on my bed in the dormitory at night, my roommates didn't talk to me.

They all sighed.

We have six people in our dormitory, and we usually have a good relationship. But when something like this happens, they don't scold me, nor do they comfort me.

Perhaps they are conflicted inside.

"Lao Wu, do you have any money left?" the dormitory leader asked me.

"Yes, I do."

"If you are really in difficulty, you should tell us," he said.

"Thank you, Big Brother."

A payment notification sound came from my phone.

"Lao Wu, a few of us gathered some money for you. Donate this money to that person. By doing so, you might receive less criticism," they said.

I looked at the money that had just arrived in my Alipay account, and my eyes became moist.

I didn't expect them to give me money at this time. They truly are lifelong good friends.

I returned the money.

"Thank you, brothers. I still feel that I haven't done anything wrong."

After saying this sentence, Second Brother turned over, cursed loudly, and no longer paid attention to me.

The dormitory leader sighed deeply, not knowing what else to say.

Fourth Brother also sighed, "I know Zhang Heng's provocation had a great impact on you. Take it as a lesson learned. There's no need to assume that all requests for help are fake."

"Yeah, you don't have to be so extreme in your judgment," another roommate who had been silent all this time spoke up.

"You don't know, when you came back home after this incident, Second Brother found an excuse to beat up Zhang Heng and got disciplined," the silent Third Brother finally said.

"Why did you tell that idiot about this? What can you achieve by donating the money? With the incident getting this big, she couldn't be a scammer. You can't have prejudice against everyone just because you were deceived once," Second Brother sat up and said.

"I'm going to sleep. Thank you, brothers." I was afraid that if I said anything more, I would start crying.

"Sleep, you f**ker, sleep!" Second Brother exploded in anger and jumped down from the upper bunk. "You can sleep just fine. Get the hell out of the dormitory. I can't stand you."

The other roommates quickly restrained Second Brother, afraid he would physically harm me.

I got up and packed my things. "Okay, I'm leaving."

Not long after I closed the door to the dormitory, I heard Second Brother's furious roar inside.

"Why the hell are you restraining me? Go find him!"
