That night, the door to my bedroom was knocked on.

I was packing my bags when my dad came in, asking me to come down for dinner. He said he felt guilty about what happened during the day, so he made some of my favorite dishes and had my sister apologize to me.

I was surprised and went downstairs to see my mom talking to my sister.

My sister had an impatient expression on her face.

When she saw me, my mom patted my sister's hand.

My sister looked at me, reluctantly saying, "Sis, I'm sorry for what happened during the day..."

I was even more surprised, not understanding why the three of them were acting this way.

This was the warmth of home that I had longed for.

I sat on the chair, looking at the table filled with dishes I liked.

My mom served me food, urging me to eat and apologizing repeatedly.

I took a few bites and suddenly saw in the reflection on the window glass behind me, my dad standing there with a red mark on his forehead.

An alarm bell rang in my mind. I realized there was a reason for all this strangeness, but before I could react, I fainted instantly.

Before passing out, I saw a dozen people entering in single file, each with a red mark on their foreheads.

My real dad, mom, and sister stood together, repeatedly confirming, "As long as we give this mutant to you, you will help us settle our youngest daughter's matter, right?"

I gave a bitter smile. So, the price for their kindness to me was selling me to the mutant research institute.

Don't they know? Once I go in, the research institute will dissect and destroy me.

They should know, right?

But they probably don't know that after lurking for over a decade, the people at the mutant research institute might not be able to contain me.

I held onto the last bit of my will and pressed the emergency contact button on me.
