I kidnapped my sister's ex-boyfriend.

Before this, I always thought that Jian Xi was the best boy in the world, until my sister's body appeared in the river.

The day after the college entrance examination ended, I arranged to meet him at a bubble tea shop.

With chestnut-colored short hair and fair, clean skin, his clear, tender eyes were inlaid with a pair of tea-brown pupils, which looked like they had been soaked in clear water. I heard that his mother was South Asian.

What a beautiful young man.

I lowered my head and stared at my feet.

"I'm sorry."

After a moment, he suddenly spoke up.

The boy's voice was warm and hoarse.

I tightly gripped the lemonade in my hand, counted down three in my heart, and then splashed it on his face.

The water droplets from his hair dripped onto his neck. He lowered his eyes, showing no reaction.

"I'm sorry about that matter."

I bit my lip, lowered my head, tears uncontrollably streaming down.

"That was my only family."

Jian Xi slowly stood up, deeply bowed to me, "I'm sorry."

I wiped away my tears, "You better spend your whole life making it up to me."

After saying that, I turned around to leave.

But he followed after me. When I was in a state of turmoil and about to cross the road, he pulled me back.

"Where do you live? I'll take you home."

I tugged at the corner of my mouth and softly asked, "Are you sure?"

Jian Xi lowered his head and looked at me, his tea-brown eyes filled with guilt.

We took a taxi to the foot of the mountain, but the driver couldn't go any further, so we had to walk.

"Is this your home?"

Jian Xi looked up at the forested mountains and winding mountain road.

I nodded, "After my sister passed away, I've been living here alone."

He fell silent for a moment, "I'll accompany you inside."

I walked in front, leading the way. This place was located in the suburbs and sparsely populated.

After half an hour of walking, a villa in the mountains suddenly appeared before our eyes.

He escorted me to the door, and I used my key to unlock it. I turned to look at him, "Do you want to come in?"

He hesitated for a moment and nodded.

The room had very little furniture, and on the coffee table in the living room, there was a photo of my sister and me.

I walked over and placed the photo on top of the table.

Then I went into the kitchen and poured him a glass of water.

He stood in front of the window, looking at the trophies my sister had won throughout her life.

"My sister was just as smart as you are."

I stood behind him and said quietly.

If it weren't for that accident, my sister should have been the top scorer this year.

He turned around, and his eyes dimmed for a moment.

As if he had made a major decision, he promised, "I will take good care of you on behalf of your sister."

"Drink your water first."

I smiled faintly and handed him the glass.

After a half-hour hike up the mountain, thirst had already taken hold.

So he took the water and drank half of it in one gulp. Then he wrinkled his brow in confusion and looked at me, "The taste... is a bit strange."

I turned around, picked up the photo that had been flipped over just now, and a tear fell, "I'm sorry, sister, I failed to protect you."

"Qin Xing, my head hurts a bit."

I turned to look at him, and my gaze gradually turned cold, "You better stay away from those trophies, or else it'll hurt even more later."

He looked puzzled, but was quickly replaced by alertness, and his lips became even paler.

Perhaps he thought of something. His steps became unsteady, and with a few stumbles, he had to hold onto the window frame to avoid falling.

"Qin Xing..."

He only managed to call out my name before he became dizzy, unable to make any sound.

I grabbed a nearby trophy and smashed it hard on his head. He instantly collapsed to the ground, his heavy eyelids propped up for a while, but ultimately unable to hold on, he fell into a deep sleep.

I crouched down, touched his cheek, and said with a smile, "I already told you not to touch those trophies. Why didn't you listen?"
