The scout stopped by a pile of campfires, their flames flickering uncertainly under the frost. The scout seemed unable to hold on any longer. They dropped their broken short sword and forcefully reached into the wound on their abdomen, pulling out a waist plate and tossing it into the fire. The two gilded characters on the waist plate had lost their color, and now it was just an ordinary wooden board.

With a loud bang, the campfire burst into flames. Blue and green flames twirled around the scout, gradually devouring their body. The scout gazed towards the direction of Chang'an in the vast wilderness, and from their stiffening lips, two words escaped: "Tai... Bai..."

Half a day later, another group of rebels who had come to regroup discovered the tragic state of this team. They didn't dare to stay for a moment and immediately fled during the night. The living beings in this place had ultimately escaped calamity.

In the first year of Baoying, the immortal poet Li Bai passed away. Legend has it that he tried to jump into the water to catch the moon while intoxicated. It is unknown whether, before his death, he saw Cui Beihai in the water or invited him to return home together.

The following year, after more than seven years, the Anshi Rebellion came to an end. The Great Tang, having experienced this great turmoil, no longer enjoyed its prosperity, and was left in a state of instability.

Several years later, an official of the Great Tang named Duan Chengshi compiled the book "Yuyang Miscellany." He included the strange incident of the Tang scout, but for some unknown reason, an invisible mysterious hand wiped and altered it, dispersing its contents across different chapters, ultimately preventing a complete view of the incident.

However, the Tang Dynasty's other extraterrestrial encounter, recorded by Duan Chengshi, remained unaltered: two lost scholars received guidance from a white-robed figure from the Moon Palace, who also revealed some secrets about the moon that were impossible for the people of the Tang Dynasty to know.

This story was almost preserved intact, settling in the river of time along with the dust of history.

The story of this scout named Cui Beihai, including the "Shanhai" insignia on their body and the organization behind them, has been forgotten by the people of the Great Tang.

But not everyone has forgotten. Some members of the organization have recorded their stories and preserved them in the archives, passing them down from generation to generation. When the sealed archives are opened, a long, long time has passed, reaching the year 1950 in the 20th century AD.

A young man named Cui Jianguo opened this decrypted file. He spent an entire day staying in the library, reading it. After finishing, he let out a long sigh and changed his name to Cui Beihai, joining the Shanhai organization.
