After the Three Sages established the Divine List, they began to initiate the Heavenly Tribulation. However, there has been no consensus on who should hold the Divine List.

Although holding the Divine List allows one to obtain a divine artifact called the God's Whip, the question is, who should it be?

Who should carry the Divine List and play the role of the stern-faced individual?

The twelve disciples under the tutelage of the Primordial Heavenly Venerate knew about their teacher's plan, but they all remained silent.

What immortal tribulation? What establishment of the Heavenly Court requiring the participation of various immortals?

It's all because they don't want everyone to achieve sainthood and share the benefits.

Who doesn't know this?

But who can oppose it?

The Great Venerable Hongjun presides over thirty-three million worlds but only leaves one world to be jointly managed by the Three Sages, allowing them to have the same lifespan as heaven and earth.

However, even if they are Three Sages, their lifespan is only equal to that of heaven. If heaven ceases to exist, won't the Three Sages also vanish into thin air? Could it be that the Three Sages don't want to be like Hongjun, surpassing the confines of heaven and earth, and ensuring their true selves remain immortal even if heaven and earth are destroyed? Of course, the Three Sages wish for that, but Hongjun does not allow it. The rules he established state that the Three Sages must share the same lifespan as heaven and earth and jointly govern the world. Therefore, even if the Three Sages are unwilling, they can only obey the arrangements.

Because the rules of the Three Sages were established by Hongjun.

Now... the rules set by the Three Sages prohibit anyone from being able to jointly govern the world like them.

So, even though they are unwilling in their hearts, what can they do about it?

The rules were set by the Three Sages.

They can only accept it reluctantly.

However, accepting it is one thing, but who among them doesn't want to hold the Divine List?

Why is that?

The person holding the Divine List will not be the Jade Emperor.

The candidate for the Jade Emperor has long been decided by the Three Sages.

The person holding the Divine List is only temporarily taking on the role of the Jade Emperor. In the future, they not only have to return the authority to the Jade Emperor but also find ways to offend all the immortals in the Heavenly Court!

You see, the person holding the Divine List is responsible for "imprisoning" the souls of everyone in the list. If these souls want to escape from the Divine List, they must be constrained by the List Holder.

The List Holder,

Although they wield the God's Whip and enjoy temporary prestige, they are at most just "wardens."

And those so-called "prisoners" will become immortals whom the warden cannot afford to offend in the future.

Who would be willing to become this warden and offend all the immortals in the Heavenly Court?

Therefore, all the disciples under the Primordial Heavenly Venerate remained silent. None of them wanted to play the stern-faced role.

Finally, the Primordial Heavenly Venerate found Jiang Ziya.
