We went forward, and in front of us was a wooden bridge with the name Lingyun Crossing written beside it.

At that moment, a fierce wind blew and the waves surged and churned.

Wukong was not afraid and quickly stepped on the bridge, crossing it in three steps.

I was trembling with fear and dared not move.

Bajie was even more terrified, shaking all over. "Master, I'll just fly over."

Wukong scolded from the other side, "How can you fly and create mist in the Holy Land of Ling Mountain?"

I gritted my teeth and managed to walk halfway across the bridge.

At this moment, I saw a person rowing a boat and shouted, "Come on board! Come on board!"

Wukong became anxious and kept calling, "Master, come over quickly."

I was already scared, but when he shouted like that, my feet softened. Instead of crossing, I jumped back.

Wukong became even more frantic. "Master, come over quickly."

Before he could say anything else, the boatman had already arrived in front of us.

Wukong was helpless and had to come back from the other end of the bridge.

"Come on board! Come on board!"

Bajie was overjoyed and pulled me to board. "Master, there's a boat."

Wukong jumped on first. "How can your bottomless boat carry my master?"

The boatman said, "Although my boat is bottomless, countless beings have crossed it in the past and present."

I took a closer look and was startled by the bottomless boat, but still mustered up the courage. "Wukong, since someone kindly offered to ferry us, then let it be a bottomless boat."

Wukong obviously didn't expect me to be unafraid of the bottomless boat, so he had no choice but to give in.

The boatman smiled. "Alright, please get on the ship."

We all got on the ship together, and before long, two corpses floated down from upstream. Wukong rejoiced at first saying, "Master, it turns out it's you. Now you have shed your mortal body."

I took another look and saw another corpse beside it. Just as I was about to ask whose body it was, I felt itching all over. I reached into my pocket and found that Wukong had only given me two hairs instead of three.

Suddenly, a sentence rang in my mind, "You should know that the light of the Buddha shines during the day, while darkness and evil rise at night."

I looked at the sky and realized that I had arrived at Jinding Temple when it was already late in the day. Now it was about to get dark.

Before I had a chance to gather my thoughts and ponder carefully.

The boat had arrived at the shore, and everyone happily embraced me and went ashore.

The boatman spoke, "What is the purpose of this journey, Master Monk?"

Without hesitation, I replied, "Naturally, it is to seek the true scriptures and save all sentient beings."

"Good, good, good. With such a noble aspiration, don't forget your original intention when you reach Ling Mountain."

Before I could respond, the boatman rowed away and disappeared in no time.

"Master, let's go." Everyone called out to me together.

We walked all the way and met various Bodhisattvas, one by one, leading us to the main hall.

Finally, we saw the Tathagata Buddha in the Grand Hall.

The Buddha was seated on a lotus throne, surrounded by radiant light. Every movement and word seemed to be accompanied by golden light.

I immediately bowed and paid my respects, and then asked my disciples to present their passage documents one by one.

The Tathagata Buddha said, "I now have the Tripitaka, which can liberate one from suffering and explain the causes of calamities. It consists of thirty-five volumes, totaling one hundred and fifty-one thousand one hundred and forty-four scrolls."

I bowed again and said, "Please, Buddha, in your compassion, transmit the true scriptures to me."

The Buddha smiled and said, "There is no hurry. It is already late in the day. Why not rest here for the night?"

I looked up at the sky and indeed, the sun had set and the bright moon had risen.

When I turned back, the Buddha's radiance in the hall had gradually dimmed, and I suddenly felt that the Buddha was no different from an ordinary person.

I was shocked in my heart. How could I be disrespectful to the Buddha? I quickly agreed, "Disciple will follow the Buddha's command."

"Ananda, Kashyapa, lead them down for a meal first. After the meal, rest for the night, and tomorrow go to the Treasury to choose the scriptures for them."

Wukong immediately spoke, "Report to Buddha, the four of us have already eaten at the Golden Summit Daoist Temple earlier, so we don't need to eat again."

The Buddha's expression became displeased. "You, Monkey, your master hasn't spoken yet, but you've spoken up first."

Wukong chuckled, "The Buddha is benevolent and magnanimous, naturally he won't blame me. If the Buddha doesn't blame me, then my master naturally won't blame me either."

"There's just a greedy pig here, and I'm afraid he won't stop once he starts eating. If he disturbs the tranquility of Ling Mountain, it won't be good."

I was still thinking about the corpse and the sentence I heard, so I remained silent.

But Bajie, upon hearing Wukong's words, immediately started arguing, "Although I'm greedy, I'm still better than this talkative monkey."

The two of them began accusing each other again.

The Buddha became somewhat angry and waved his hand.

Ananda, understanding the meaning, said, "You two, even here in the Buddha's sacred Ling Mountain, you are still causing trouble like this."

"Xuanzang, how do you discipline your disciples?"

I quickly apologized, "It is the disciple's lack of discipline, please forgive us, Buddha."

The matter was muddled up by Wukong and Bajie, so the Buddha decided to forgo the meal and had Ananda and Kashyapa lead us to rest first.
