"Master, Ling Mountain is just ahead," Bajie approached me.

"Tell me, how much merit can we earn from this great journey?"

Wukong couldn't help but rebuke, "Fool! We haven't obtained the scripture yet, and you're already thinking about merits."

Bajie muttered, "I was just asking."

I whispered, "You two, stop arguing. Despite enduring various hardships, you haven't managed to change your ways. Now that we're finally approaching Ling Mountain, I hope you can restrain yourselves."

Both of them stopped playing around and focused on the journey.

Before long, we had reached the foot of Ling Mountain.

"Isn't Ling Mountain known as the Western Pure Land, a sacred place of Buddhism? Why does it look so dilapidated without a hint of divine aura?" Wukong sneered, "It's not as grand as my Flower Fruit Mountain and Water Curtain Cave."

"Amitabha, contentment brings joy and tranquility. How can we measure a Buddhist holy site by its grandeur or lack thereof?" I corrected Wukong's mistake.

"Disciple understands the mistake. But Master, take a look, isn't there something peculiar about Ling Mountain?"

"What's peculiar about it?"

"It's not about being magnificent, but at least the mountain gate should be imposing. Look at how broken it is. Something must have happened," Bajie said.

"Great Sage, what kind of talk is this?" a shout came from behind the mountain gate.

We looked closely and found that it was the Golden Summit Immortal who came to guide us.

"Riches and honors are like floating clouds, while cultivation remains constant. Great Sage has been cultivating alongside the venerable monk for more than ten years, but your Buddhist cultivation is still lacking," the Golden Summit Immortal said, embarrassing Wukong.

Wukong scratched his head in embarrassment.

The Golden Summit Immortal then turned to me and said, "Venerable Monk, you have endured a long journey. Guanyin Bodhisattva has sent me to guide you and your disciples."

I hurriedly bowed, "We are grateful for the immortal's assistance."

The Golden Summit Immortal smiled, "Originally, I was going to invite you all to stay overnight at my Yuzhen Temple. However, Buddha urgently wants to see you, so I was instructed to guide you quickly."

I didn't think too much about it. Since there was an immortal willing to lead the way, there was no reason to refuse.

However, Wukong pulled me aside and said, "Master, I still think something is amiss."

"As an ordinary human, I am filled with Buddhist energy through my cultivation of the Dharma. In this Buddhist holy land, there should be Buddhist light and the fragrance of incense everywhere. But I can't feel any of it now," I shook my head. "You are influenced by your experience at the Little Thunder Monastery. Once bitten by a snake, one is afraid of well ropes for ten years."

Wukong sighed and plucked three hairs from his head. "Master, if you encounter danger and I'm not by your side, you can activate these three hairs."

I accepted the hairs and said to the Golden Summit Immortal, "Please guide us to Ling Mountain."

The Golden Summit Immortal laughed heartily and led us towards Ling Mountain.

After a short while, he pointed in the distance and said, "Venerable Monk, look at the auspicious light shining in the sky for half a day. That's the Ling Mountain's Da Leiyin Temple. I can only guide you this far."

I thanked him once again.

Before I could finish bowing, the Golden Summit Immortal turned into a wisp of green smoke and disappeared.

"Why was the immortal in such a hurry?" I asked Wukong.

Wukong waved his hand, "How would I know? I said there was something peculiar about Ling Mountain, but you didn't want to believe me."

I immediately looked stern, "Wukong, you spoke nonsense before we arrived at Ling Mountain, and I didn't blame you."

"Now that we have arrived at Ling Mountain, in front of Buddha, you mustn't be disrespectful."

"Alright, alright."
