I woke up and found myself lying in Zhou Fansheng's house.

I was momentarily stunned.

My brain couldn't remember anything about last night.

The door of the room was suddenly pushed open, and Zhou Fansheng walked in with his arms crossed.

"What, don't tell me you forgot what happened yesterday. You slept and lost your memory."

Zhou Fansheng mocked coldly.

I lowered my head slightly and said, "I'm sorry, I really don't remember."

Zhou Fansheng walked towards me in big strides and sat directly at the foot of the bed.

He looked at me and sneered, "Your excuse is really lame.

"Yesterday you said you didn't know me. What, that guy made you a promise to be with you, and now you're eager to distance yourself from me?"

I rubbed my slightly sore head and didn't want to continue this boring argument with him.

I sat up, planning to leave, and Zhou Fansheng's anger instantly flared up at my attitude.

He grabbed my wrist and threw me back onto the bed, and my head hit the headboard heavily.

Zhou Fansheng looked down at me from above, his shadow covering me.

"If that guy knew you once killed someone, would he still want to be with you?" Zhou Fansheng paused and added, "He won't really promise to love you and say he won't marry anyone else in this lifetime, right? And you won't really believe that, will you?"

"Why shouldn't I believe it?" I retorted to Zhou Fansheng. "What can you give me?"

"I've been repenting every day for these years. I think it should be enough. God has already punished me."

"Don't be with him, you can have anything you want."

This was the first time Zhou Fansheng spoke to me in such a humble tone, although he avoided my gaze when saying this.

I suddenly burst into laughter, asking for a delusional thing, "I want you to love me."

The air instantly quieted down, and time seemed to stand still.

After a long time, Zhou Fansheng sighed, "Shen Nuo, do you know, every time I see you, I think of the past, and every time I have to forgive you and myself."

From Zhou Fansheng's brief words, I understood that we can never go back.

We also have no future.

The future will only be mutual torment.

This was the first time I saw Zhou Fansheng cry.
