I forced myself to stay calm, kept my head down and looked at my phone, switched to WeChat, thinking about messaging the new class instructor today. Just as I opened the private chat page, I couldn’t help but give myself a punch.

Am I going crazy?

Just now, the sudden power outage caused Chen Luoluo to come out of the bathroom wrapped in a bath towel. As she passed by me and Zhang Wen, she asked, "By the way, did you guys hear anyone talking just now? About shower gel or something?"

I shook my head, intending to open the dormitory door, but found that it wouldn’t budge. I forced myself to stay calm as I messaged the class instructor:

"Instructor, I'm from Room 309. Someone in Bed 4 of the dorm is talking."

The instructor replied quickly:

"Okay. Please don’t respond. I’ll handle it right away."

As soon as I put down my phone, the dormitory door was knocked on. Chen Luoluo, who was closest to the door, hadn't even gotten up when the door was opened.

The instructor, wearing glasses, came in and stood in front of Bed 4 for a while. After a few minutes, she told us:

"Okay."

As she was about to leave, I hurriedly stopped the instructor:

"Instructor, can I apply to change dorms now?"

"Don’t worry. The teacher will handle everything for you."

With that, she walked out and closed the door. I once again walked to the door to open it, but it still wouldn't budge.

At this moment, Chen Luoluo and Zhang Wen finally realized the seriousness of the situation and came over to frantically try to open the door together.

Chen Luoluo was already starting to panic:

"What's going on? I chose this dorm because I heard that all the students in this dorm have secured postgraduate recommendations, and they are all top students!"

"Yes, that's why I chose it too!"

Looking at my phone, it was already 10:10 at night. According to the dormitory's second rule, leaving the dormitory was prohibited at this time.

I opened the chat window with the instructor and saw that I had messaged the instructor at 10:02. It was already past 10 o'clock at that time.

I clenched my phone and turned back to sit on the chair.

"Sisters, let’s follow the rules."

It was only now that Chen Luoluo and Zhang Wen earnestly looked at the dormitory rules. As they read, Chen Luoluo suddenly broke down and cried.

"What do we do? I violated the fourth rule."

Zhang Wen's face turned pale:

"I heard someone speaking from Bed 4, but I thought I had misheard, so I didn’t report it to the instructor."

I forced myself to calmly pull up the chat record and asked Chen Luoluo why they chose this dorm.

Chen Luoluo was already tired of crying.

"It was that a senior told me that everyone in this dorm has secured postgraduate recommendations. She said it might be due to good feng shui or something."

Zhang Wen gave a similar answer.

"Can you find that senior now?"

After a long silence, Chen Luoluo finally broke down again. It was as if that senior had disappeared out of thin air. The three of us could only remember that the senior's profile picture was black, not entirely black, but black with a few stars interspersed.

The dormitory lights had gone out, and everyone tacitly went to bed without speaking.

Before I covered myself with the blanket, I heard a few laughs, as if they were the laughter of girls.

Then, a voice came from somewhere:

"Let me see who didn’t follow the rules ~"

This couldn’t be reported to the instructor because that voice definitely didn't come from Bed 4; it sounded more like it was right in front of my bed.
