At night, I lay on the wooden bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.

I looked at my phone again, the signal was still very weak.

Since entering this village, I couldn't make calls or send messages.

I sat up, stared at the door, and bit my lip.

After hesitating for a moment, I opened the door.

A pale face appeared before me.

I shuddered abruptly, my voice trembling, "Why are you here again?"

"Teng Yu" held up a bowl expressionlessly, looking down at me, not missing any of my expressions.

"I was worried you might get thirsty at night, so I brought you a bowl of warm water. Why are you out so late?"

I patted my chest and pretended to be angry, "You scared me to death. I was about to go to the toilet. Could you accompany me? It's too dark and I'm a bit scared to go to the outhouse alone."

"Teng Yu" stared at me for a moment, silent.

I clenched the hem of my shirt, "Don't want to?"

He suddenly laughed, his white teeth looking eerie in the night.

"It's not that."

I knew I had no chance to escape tonight, so after using the toilet, I followed "Teng Yu" back into the room.

"It's late. Drink this bowl of water and go to sleep."

Seeing his unyielding demeanor, I nodded reluctantly.

Under the man's watchful eyes, I suppressed my unease and finished the bowl of water. At the end, I turned the empty bowl over to show him.

"Teng Yu" turned and left the room.

I pressed against the door, feeling him walk away.

I quickly moved to the bed, half-squatting, and started gagging.

I spit out a mouthful of sour water.

"Han Han, why are you so disobedient."

I stiffened and turned to look at the window by the bed.

"Teng Yu's" face was pressed against the window, his bloody face looked terrifyingly grim, and he held a vegetable knife in his hand.

The knife was stained with bits of bloody flesh, and most horrifying was a snake head with a missing eyeball still stuck on it.
