"Liu Yan?"

"Liu Yan? Wake up."

I opened my eyes again, feeling a faint pain in my temples. This is still the office. I glanced at the computer.

It was still 9:50 PM.

"Are you okay?"

A colleague waved a hand in front of me: "You look really pale. Why don't you go home and rest first?"

I nodded, quickly grabbed my bag, and ran out.

If I'm not mistaken, Jiang Yi and Zhou Sicheng will meet soon.

I ran while pulling out my phone to call Jiang Yi, but he didn't answer even after several attempts.

This is really bad. They haven't met already, have they?

I didn't dare to stop and kept running until I reached the entrance of the alley. Thankfully, Jiang Yi and Zhou Sicheng were not there.

I breathed a sigh of relief. I had run so fast that my high heels had rubbed blisters on my heels. I only felt the severe pain after stopping.

Limping, I walked into the residential area and finally hopped up a few flights of stairs. Suddenly, a dark figure appeared around the corner.

"Oh, isn't this Liu Yan?"

The tone was sarcastic, and the sharp voice sounded like a horny drake. I had always detested this voice.

Zhou Sicheng laughed slyly, reeking of alcohol, and staggered towards me, muttering, "Growing up really makes a difference. You were skinny as a child, not a bit of meat. Now you look much better..."

I ignored him and turned to leave, but Zhou Sicheng jumped over and grabbed my arm, giving me goosebumps all over.

Childhood memories flashed through my mind, and I shouted angrily, "Are you crazy? Don't touch me!"

Zhou Sicheng held onto me, laughing even more smugly: "What's wrong? Still shy? What are you pretending to be all proper for?"

"Let go! Get lost! Jiang Yi!"

I yelled around, hoping someone would hear and open the door to save me.

"Bang!"

The grip on my arm loosened, and Zhou Sicheng tumbled down the stairs headfirst, thudding down, leaving a spreading patch of red on the gray cement floor.

"Don't be afraid, Ah Yan."

Jiang Yi hugged my trembling body: "It's okay now."

"It's not like this."

I didn't know if Zhou Sicheng was dead, but if Jiang Yi got sentenced because of him, it wouldn't be worth it.
