The old principal approached slowly.

"I already told you before, curiosity killed the cat. This place is dangerous, you shouldn't have come here and taken the map to wander around recklessly."

"Principal, did the Japanese army's bacteriological unit use this laboratory?"

"Yes, the city planned to convert this place into a museum a long time ago, but things got delayed, so it's been preserved as it was."

Realizing the principal was right, he still felt it was strange how he ended up in this place by himself.

Feeling frustrated, he lowered his head to dig out the map from his bag.

Suddenly, a gust of evil wind viciously attacked him from his head.

But, it hit nothing but air.

He jumped back quickly, barely dodging the ambush. Immediately, a second attack came, and he threw a water bottle in his hand towards the attacker, who had to dodge.

Both stood still, neither able to gain an advantage over the other.

The attacker laughed harshly, "You dodged quickly."

"It's not that I dodged quickly, it's that there was a flaw in what you said, pretending to be the respected Principal Dai!"

He had already suspected the principal's intentions.

"Did you see through it long ago, kid?"

"I handed the file folder back to you face to face back then, without dropping anything. Those few maps I picked up were deliberately left there. Except for me and Fuko, if there was a third person who mentioned the maps, then he must be the one who placed them."

"He eagerly helped me find the way, but I didn't know if he was friend or foe, so I had to be cautious. And it turned out to be you, the principal wearing a school uniform."

Principal Dai looked at the cane in his hand slowly: "Kid, you're pretty clever. I left the maps there on purpose for you. Besides, I used your curiosity to lure you in. Haven't you ever noticed there’s something strange about this place? Today, you followed the same path they took to get out of the big house."

He thought to himself, we're just two young guys, what's to fear from an old man? But he had to find out the whole truth behind this situation.

"Principal Dai, you put in so much effort to bring us to this place, surely you must have a reason?"

"Alright, kid, since you're about to die anyway, there's no harm in telling you. Let you die knowing why!"

Secrets from history not yet recorded in books were about to be revealed.
