Late night, dormitory.

Sheng and Taller Skinny Lai Nan were putting on makeup using the moonlight as they faced the mirror.

Sheng would use red paper to color his lips, Sheng would use charcoal sticks to draw his eyebrows.

His movements were affected, and his demeanor was enchanting, more feminine than any girl in the school.

"Yue, what the hell is this?!"

Looking at the video on his phone, Ye got goosebumps all over and couldn't believe his eyes.

"Shang Zhi, this is what you looked like last night!" Fuzi Sheng nodded solemnly while slowly putting away his phone.

Ye Sheng grabbed the phone and quickly pressed the delete button.

Ye Sheng was a straightforward guy, a top student who often served as the class president, yet he was putting on makeup in front of the mirror at midnight?

If this video got out, Ye would directly face social death.

Fuzi Sheng grinned mischievously while placing the mirror in front of Ye.

Looking into the mirror, Ye Sheng saw a face painted like a Balala the Fairies character.

Fuzi laughed so hard he rolled off his chair and onto the floor.

"Listen, if you dare to tell anyone, I'll kill you. If you keep this secret, I'll treat you to some spicy strips."

Only Fuzi lived in the dorm with Ye, so if he didn’t say anything, no one else would know.

After analyzing it for half a day, they both concluded that Ye must be sleepwalking due to academic stress.

To their surprise, Ye did it again that night, and even continued for three days straight.

It was bizarre; they searched all over Baidu but couldn't find any information about such a strange case of sleepwalking.

Fuzi Sheng said something that sent chills down Ye's spine.

"Do you know our school has old ghostly legends?"

Ye's heart skipped a beat.

"That's why the school forbids anyone from going near the old stone tablet behind the playground, or something bad will happen."

Ye instantly remembered that during an orientation meeting, the old principal had mentioned this.

In the pine forest behind the playground, there's a wordless stone tablet of unknown origin that looks eerie even in broad daylight. The school specially fenced it off for protection.

"I know about the stone tablet. I heard it’s as old as the school and considered a century-old artifact. But what does that have to do with my midnight makeup sessions?"

"Ye said he once saw a female ghost there. Do you believe him? Now he's suspecting she followed you back to the dorm and possessed you."

Fuzi Sheng stared at Ye with an eerie look.

"Damn it, stop scaring me!"

According to Fuzi, that night he finally got to ask out the class flower for a review session (yue hui).

The two scheming students squeezed through the fence behind the stone tablet to find a secluded spot for some mischief, when a pair of feet appeared above the class flower’s head.

A ghostly teenage girl in an ancient outfit floated slowly in the air above them. Her eyes, devoid of pupils, emitted an icy glare.

Scared out of their wits, they fled in panic.

"At that moment, I was almost scared to pee my pants, but the encounter was so fleeting that I couldn’t be sure it was real."

"Then what?"

"And then you started putting on makeup at midnight. Ye suspects the female ghost possessed you."

"You're just trying to scare me." Ye forced a laugh, and they both fell silent.

That night, after falling asleep, Ye unconsciously dug into the trash can, retrieved the discarded red paper and charcoal stick, and started putting on makeup again.

Damn it, at this rate, how could a straight guy like me ever find a girlfriend?

He didn’t believe in ghosts, thinking long and hard, he decided to ask the retired old principal.

The old principal lived in the staff dormitory behind the student dorms.

Since he'd mentioned the stone tablet, he must know something about it.

But upon hearing Ye's story, the old principal reprimanded him, telling him not to believe in ghost stories.

"Focus your energy on your studies! Curiosity killed the cat!"
