Early in the morning, I was still in a dream when suddenly I felt someone harshly pulling my hair.

I winced in pain, woke up from the dream, and found myself staring straight into a pair of eyes.

Two round eyes were still bloodshot, staring at me fixedly without moving.

I screamed, "Ah!" waking up my husband next to me.

"Mom, why did you come without saying hello?"

My husband's slightly hoarse voice brought me back to my senses.

Looking closely, who else could it be if not my mother-in-law?

She looked like she hadn't slept all night, with bloodshot eyes, drooping eyelids, and a downcast expression.

"Say hello? I'm your mother! Do I need your wife's permission to come to your house?"

I was dumbfounded. Before I could say a word, she directly labeled me with that hat.

My mother-in-law stared at my face intently, as if trying to see through me.

Suddenly, she asked, "When did you get this mole under your eye?"

I was taken aback. The mole under my eye?

Before I could respond, my mother-in-law reached out and touched it.

Her rough hand made the skin around my eyes sore, and her long nails occasionally poked my eyeball.

As I instinctively dodged, I answered, "I've had it since I was a child..."

I've had this mole under my eye since I was a child. A few years ago, when everyone pursued flawless skin, I would deliberately cover it up with makeup.

But this year, many beauty bloggers said that having a mole under the eye can lower the eye position and shorten the midface.

My midface happens to be a bit long, so recently I've exposed this mole and even darkened it a bit with eyeliner.

I pushed my mother-in-law's hand away and angrily asked, "What are you trying to do?!"

Instead, my mother-in-law slapped me directly and said, "No wonder my son has been so unlucky, it's because of you, the harbinger of bad luck!"
