"My son, my good son, who killed you?"

An old and sharp voice came from the police station entrance. I looked towards the voice and saw two familiar figures.

Li Wei's elderly mother, supported by Li Wei's younger brother Li Jia, appeared weak, crying as she walked into the police station:

"My son, I haven't enjoyed your blessings or held my grandson yet. Why did you leave first? The older generation should not bury the younger generation!"

Li's mother wailed and lamented, while Li Jia, who was only eighteen and frail, could hardly withstand his mother's commotion and was almost pushed to the ground by her.

Feeling great as I just received the inheritance distribution of Li Wei from the lawyer on my phone, I walked over with a generous heart, intending to help up my former mother-in-law. However, as soon as Li's mother saw me, she seemed to have found a target for her outburst, grabbing my collar and accusing me with a strength that didn't match that of a sixty or seventy-year-old lady:

"Was it you? Did you kill my son?"

Li's mother displayed the fierceness of a village pig slaughterer, looking fierce:

"It must be you who knew my son had another woman outside, so in a fit of anger, you killed my son. You murderer, I will call the police to arrest you, arrest you!"

Grabbing my collar, Li's mother tried to take me back to the police station. Li Jia wanted to intervene, but he was no match for Li's mother, who was not from a butcher background.

"I will have the police arrest you, the murderer, to pay for my son's life!"

Li's mother began to make a scene.

Our commotion quickly caught the attention of the police in the station:

"What's going on?"

A police officer came out, coincidentally the same comrade who had accompanied me to the hospital initially.

Seeing the uniformed police officer, Li's mother seemed to have found support, grabbing me and bringing me in front of the officer:

"Comrade officer, I want to report a crime. This woman killed my son! My poor son, in his thirties, died at the hands of this wicked woman!"
