I lay on the rocking chair, Xu Muzhou carefully applying a cold compress to my head.

I grimaced in pain and said indignantly, "What's this? Did you invite me to stargaze or to see stars in my eyes?"

Xu Muzhou chuckled at my words and softly replied, "Who knew you would get so excited and bump into a pillar as soon as you saw me?"

"You're the one who's excited!" I retorted, unconvinced.

"Alright, alright, I'm excited, it's me who's excited!" he echoed repeatedly.

I looked up, the night sky pitch black with not a single star in sight.

Instead, Xu Muzhou's face was reflected in my pupils.

"Shen Tang," he called me softly.

Only then did I realize how close we were.

Close enough that I could almost kiss his lips with just a turn of my head.

"You know there are no stars tonight," Xu Muzhou's voice was hoarse.

"Yes, I know."

"Then why did you still come?"

"Xu Muzhou, it's impolite to ask a question you already know the answer to."

He smiled, reaching out to hold my waist.

"Let me take you to see something else."
