"Take her away? Who are you?"

My mom sized her up, stepped forward, and circled around her.

The expressionless black-clad bodyguard behind her moved forward to prevent her from getting closer.

"It's high noon, that brat still needs to cook, and you want to take her away?"

My mom spat on the ground.

Xie Xi furrowed her brows tightly.

She quickly stepped back.

"Oh, where did this precious young lady come from? Can't handle it, so delicate, what are you doing here?"

My mom, she's not someone Xie Xi can deal with.

I stood behind the door, watching them.

Seeing Xie Xi remain silent, my mom turned around and glared at me fiercely.

"Idle brat, what are you looking at here? Hurry up and go cook for me."

I lowered my head, replied, "Yes," and turned back to the old stove.

Wood was sent into the stove, and I heard the conversation coming from over there.

"I want to take her away, she's my sister."

"You say she's your sister, so she is? Any evidence?"

"This is the result of a DNA test."

I perked up my ears, her voice soft and weak, like a rabbit in need of protection.

"What nonsense, move aside, move aside, I, a simple woman, don't understand these things."

My mom's greedy voice came from behind, "If you want to take her away, it's not impossible, but you have to give me some benefits."

The flames on the stove flickered.

Xie Xi's voice paused for a moment.

With the wind from the mountains, mixed with the smell of wood, it entered my ears.

"How much do you want?"
