I held the book and followed the sound.

A large hole broke in the frozen pond.

Two figures were struggling inside the hole.

I walked to the shore and carefully examined the two.

One boy, one girl.

They looked about the same age as me.

One of them looked familiar.

The girl was struggling, splashing water splashed in the air, quickly turning into ice cubes falling down.

She was calling for help.

And the boy, sharp-eyed, saw me.

His sharp gaze captured me.

"Save me," he commanded me.

I saw their gorgeous clothes and tilted my head.

"Why should I?"

An indescribable malice surged in my heart.

He stared at me firmly, as if he had seen through my thoughts.

"Save me, and I will grant you one request."

I lowered my eyes, hesitated for three seconds.

"Okay."
