At the age of twenty-five, I finally passed the adult college entrance examination.

Attending a second-tier university was a height I had never dreamed of reaching.

Upon hearing the good news, my employer paid for my university tuition for two years.

I had originally planned to take out a loan for my education, so I firmly refused.

Over the years, my employer has helped me a lot.

For someone unrelated to me to do all this, I am truly grateful.

My employer was resolute in her attitude, she stuffed an envelope into my arms, saying that this money was not a gift.

"Once you start earning money with the knowledge you have learned, pay me back bit by bit."

She preserved my dignity and provided me with the greatest help.

After entering university, I teamed up with one of my roommates to work and study diligently.

During this time, I passed the College English Test Band 4 and Band 6.

What's more fortunate is that because my roommate's boyfriend is a master's student, I had the opportunity to get early exposure to professional research topics.

I clearly and firmly felt that since I started studying, my life truly became meaningful.

Before that, it was all chaos.

University life completely opened the door to a new world for me.

It turns out that in this world, there is not only suffering but also happiness.

My happiness was unleashed during my four years of university life, and what surprised me even more was that.

Due to early exposure to research topics, my roommate and I were both recommended for graduate studies.

During the graduate studies recommendation period, all fees were waived, and there was an additional monthly allowance.

Aside from studying, I have always been working part-time.

However, my part-time work has shifted from manual labor to tutoring and teaching.

The income is higher, and it's more relaxed.

Thinking back to when Lily, in the kitchen of the restaurant, solemnly told me at the age of seventeen:

"Knowledge changes destiny."

At this moment, I finally understand the true meaning of this sentence.
