That night, Li Ming slept in the guest room holding his daughter.

I cried the entire night and didn't fall asleep until dawn.

As expected, my years-long biological clock didn't wake me up this time despite my extreme exhaustion.

The next day, I was awakened by a rapid knocking on the door.

"Mom! If you don't get up and take me to school, I'm going to be late!"

I casually threw the alarm clock by my bedside at the door, making a loud noise that scared my daughter into not daring to knock again.

I covered my head with a pillow and grumpily said,

"Your dad isn't dead, why don't you ask him to take you?"

Li Ming roared from outside the door: "Shen Lin, get out here now! Why didn't you wash my shirt yesterday? It's all wrinkled now. How am I supposed to go to work like this?"

Seething with anger, I jumped out of bed and yanked open the door.

Facing the two of them, I lashed out.

"Li Ming, how old are you now? Can't even iron a shirt? Are you useless?"

"And you?" I looked down at my daughter, who had a face full of grievances, "Didn't you say yesterday you didn't recognize me as your mother? How do you have the face to ask me to take you to school now?"

Their expressions were equally fantastic.

They probably thought that after a night, I'd surely forgive them and reluctantly continue with my life.

But what they didn't know was that I cried the whole night, and I'd already drained all the foolishness out of my head these past years.

Now, I don't care about their survival!

After saying that, I went to the kitchen to fry myself an egg and leisurely brought it back to the dining table to eat.

My daughter looked at the fragrant breakfast on my plate, her eyes fixed with greed.

Without a word, she tried to snatch it, but I straightforwardly pushed her to the ground.

She landed on her bottom, took a big fall, and started to roll on the ground, throwing a tantrum:

"Bad woman! You're a vicious madwoman, and you actually won't give me food!"

"Waaah waaah... Dad, come hit her, beat her to death!"

I ate with great appetite, looked at her with a smile, and said, "Didn't you say I do nothing at home but freeload? Go make it yourself if you have the guts!"

Li Ming, wearing his wrinkled shirt, just stepped out of the room and saw his daughter crying and fussing on the ground. His face scrunched up.

Annoyed, he picked her up from the ground and tossed her in front of me:

"Shen Lin, are you fit to be a mother? Qianqian's voice is about to get hoarse from crying, and you don't know how to soothe her?"

"Why are you so petty? You're still holding a grudge over yesterday's trivial matter?"

"Arguing with a child, really?"

I slowly wiped my mouth and nodded at him: "Yes, I am petty. Starting today, I'm going to work. From now on, I won't be handling any housework or taking care of the child. You deal with it yourselves."

"After all, you never considered me to be the mistress of this house!"

"Don't think that without you, I can't live! We'll see about that. How laughable, you haven't worked in ten years; you think finding a job is so easy now? What nonsense..."

Li Ming was furious, his veins bulging. He tried to hold back his anger and picked up his briefcase, ready to leave.

My daughter quickly clutched his leg and yelled, "Dad, help me put on my uniform and take me to school! I'm going to be late!"

Li Ming grabbed a uniform from the dirty laundry basket, dressed her, and was about to leave.

Li Qianqian cried and fussed: "I don't want to wear dirty clothes! My classmates will laugh at me!"

She looked up at her dad pitifully.

She still thought that, like me, Li Ming would give in to her pleading.

After all, in the past, I would always coax her with a pained expression, treating her like a princess.

But evidently, she was going to be disappointed.

Li Ming, extremely irritated, raised his hand and slapped her.

"You damn well behave! I'm going to be late for work!"

I instantly felt a sense of relief.

With a cold sneer, I said, "Ungrateful brat, serves you right!"

Ignoring my daughter's murderous glare, I headed out the door and went straight to the mall.
