Shi Huai Zhao strongly requested to visit my house.

"But my house is small, there's nothing interesting to see."

"Take me there, take me there, I've prepared many gifts for Da Fu."

"What about the gifts for me?"

Shi Huai Zhao opened his arms and smiled shyly at me.

"I am your gift."

So corny, but cute, I'll let it slide.

And so, one Friday after work, Shi Huai Zhao and I went home.

Da Fu still remembered Shi Huai Zhao and warmly greeted him with a head-butt.

Once inside the house, Shi Huai Zhao revealed his true nature.

"Surrounded by Xiao Jin's scent, how blissful."

It seems he automatically ignored Da Fu's dog scent in the house.

Shi Huai Zhao curiously looked around the house, and strongly requested that I give him a "girlfriend shirt."

"Give me one, Xiao Jin, all the things I collected before were confiscated by you."

He wrapped his arms around my waist, with a pitiful and shy expression.

"You already have me, do you still need a girlfriend shirt? Am I not enough for you?"

I gave him a stern look and intentionally teased him.

"No, no, I just want it as a memento, so I can smell your scent even when I can't see you."

"What scent of mine? It's just the scent of Red Sun detergent."

Shi Huai Zhao buried his head beside me and stubbornly defended himself.

"No, Xiao Jin's scent is unique, it's Xiao Jin's scent."

I pulled him onto the bed.

"Then, do you want to remember this scent more deeply?"

Shi Huai Zhao swallowed his saliva and instinctively moved closer to me.

...

On Saturday morning, Shi Huai Zhao and I went out together to walk the dog.

The heat of recent public opinion events had subsided a bit, and the registration of outsiders in the neighborhood had become stricter.

Finally, everyone could relax and come out to the sun with their furry children.

Several uncles and aunties were practicing Tai Chi in the outdoor fitness area of the community.

Shi Huai Zhao and I sat in a nearby pavilion to rest.

"Xiao Jin, do you want to live with me? Bertie misses you, and so do I."

"Sure, but my rental contract hasn't expired yet.

"And this place is close to the subway station, making it convenient for commuting."

Shi Huai Zhao clearly couldn't understand.

"But the subway is crowded during peak hours, and if you can't get on, it'll delay your time, won't it?

"There's also no seat on the subway, and you can't even take a nap."

"If you live with me, you can comfortably nap on the train."

Indeed, the world of wealthy people had no concerns about commuting time, only considerations for comfort.

"If you don't want to live in a mansion, I also have properties near the company, come live with me?"

Shi Huai Zhao continued to whine, but my attention was focused on a Teddy that was off-leash.

The Teddy sniffed around, quickly approaching Da Fu.

It chased after Da Fu's behind, trying repeatedly to mount Da Fu.

I tightened the leash and reminded the Teddy's owner who was chatting on the side.

"Auntie, please keep your dog further away, and remember to leash it."

The auntie with curly hair didn't even turn around, waved her hand, and continued chatting with the person opposite her.

"It's okay, our dog is very well-behaved, it won't jump on people, you don't need to worry."

It won't jump on people but it will jump on dogs!

Da Fu had already let out a faint growl, it wasn't a good sign.

I squatted down, planning to pick up Da Fu to avoid the Teddy's harassment.

But their reactions were faster than mine, in an instant, they were biting and tearing into each other.

The auntie on the side cried out, but didn't make any moves to stop them.

It was Shi Huai Zhao who reacted quickly, he pulled the leash and lifted Da Fu directly.

Fortunately, I used a harness-type leash for Da Fu, so it didn't choke him.

But the Teddy still clung onto Da Fu's hind leg.

In a desperate situation, Shi Huai Zhao forcefully slapped the Teddy's body.

The struggling Teddy turned around and bit back, Shi Huai Zhao dodged in time, but his hand was still scratched and bleeding.

Under our chase, the Teddy finally stayed away.

The auntie continued to mutter that her dog was well-behaved and wouldn't bite people, insisting that it must have been us who provoked it.

I pointed at the surveillance camera under the eaves and warned fiercely.

"Shut up! If something happens to my dog or me, get ready to face a lawsuit!"
