After realizing that I had been reborn, I immediately rushed back home.

Upon arriving home, Aunt Li saw me and hurriedly came over.

"Xiao Li, why didn't you let me know in advance that you were coming back early?"

"Do I have to report to you when I come back?" I said coldly, ignoring her and walking straight into the room.

Aunt Li immediately panicked and hurriedly tried to stop me.

I pushed open the bedroom door and saw a man sitting cross-legged, casually lying on the bed playing with his phone.

I turned to Aunt Li and questioned her about what was going on.

"This is my son. He just lost his job and has nowhere to stay, so I let him stay here for a few days."

"Who allowed him to come in? This is trespassing, make him leave immediately, or I'll call the police."

"I let him in," Tian Jiajia explained.

"Sis, Aunt Li is our lifesaver. She only has one son, and he lost his job and has no place to live. It's fine for him to stay here for a few days as a way to repay her kindness."

"If you want to repay kindness, it's none of my business!"

Once, Tian Jiajia and I encountered a robbery when we were out. We were in a quiet alley, and the person had a knife in his hand.

We were terrified.

Fortunately, Aunt Li happened to pass by and shouted, scaring away the criminal.

Since then, she became our lifesaver.

In my previous life, Tian Jiajia did some unimaginable things to repay her kindness.

First, she brought Aunt Li into our home, saying she wanted to take care of her in her old age.

At first, Aunt Li moved in and was very diligent, taking the initiative to help with all the housework.

Tian Jiajia suggested paying her a salary because she didn't want her to work for free.

At that time, our parents had just passed away, and my sister became the closest person to me.

Thinking of our parents' instructions and Aunt Li's kindness to us, I agreed and gave Aunt Li a high salary as she wished.

But after receiving the salary, Aunt Li started slacking off, only doing the bare minimum.

Eventually, she didn't even bother to pretend anymore and didn't do any work, just lying around the house.

She was supposed to be a housekeeper, but she was actually taking money to eat, drink, and live for free.

Out of consideration for our relationship, I politely reminded her.

Tian Jiajia got upset and said I didn't understand that Aunt Li was old and had difficulty moving around.

And things got even worse.

When I was at work and not at home, Aunt Li brought her son, Li Dayong, back to our house and secretly slept in my bed.

After I found out, Tian Jiajia came out to defend them, criticizing me both implicitly and explicitly.

"Sis, how can you say that? Aunt Li is our lifesaver, your lifesaver too. In my heart, she is like our second parents. How can you forget about gratitude and betray her?"

"It's still Jiajia who cares about me. If Xiao Li doesn't welcome us, we, the orphans and widows, can only move out and sleep on the streets."

Tian Jiajia started her old, clichéd arguments, trying to morally manipulate me.

This time, I didn't soften my heart and immediately called the police.

"You guys wait for the police to come."

When they realized that I had really called the police, Aunt Li and the others became anxious.

"You despicable woman, all you did was lie down on your bed, right? If you dare to call the police, believe me, I'll teach you a lesson!"

Li Dayong jumped up from the bed and raised his fist, trying to hit me.

Instinctive fear made me step back, and the scenes of him beating me flashed through my mind.

"If you want to add another charge of intentional injury, go ahead and try. You'll end up in jail," I warned.

Upon hearing the mention of going to jail, Li Dayong hesitated and stopped his aggressive behavior.

At that moment, the sound of a police siren approached, and within minutes, the police arrived at the scene.

I quickly explained the situation to the officers, detailing how Aunt Li and her son had trespassed into my home without permission and refused to leave.

The police officers listened attentively and then proceeded to question Aunt Li and her son.

Faced with the presence of the police, Aunt Li's demeanor changed. She put on a pitiful act, claiming that she had nowhere else to go and that I, her niece, was heartless for trying to kick her out.

However, I remained firm in my decision and emphasized that their actions were unacceptable. I mentioned how Aunt Li had taken advantage of our previous kindness and abused her position as a housekeeper, neglecting her duties and bringing her son into our home without consent.

The police officers assessed the situation and recognized that Aunt Li and her son were in the wrong. They explained that trespassing was a criminal offense and that I had the right to ask them to leave my property.

They warned Aunt Li and her son about the consequences of their actions and advised them to find alternative living arrangements.

Reluctantly, Aunt Li and Li Dayong packed their belongings and left, under the watchful eyes of the police. With their departure, a sense of relief washed over me.

I thanked the police officers for their assistance and apologized for any inconvenience caused. They assured me that I had done the right thing and encouraged me to report any further issues if they arose.

After the police left, I took a moment to collect myself. It was a difficult decision to confront Aunt Li and her son, but I knew it was necessary to protect my own well-being. I had to prioritize my own happiness and not allow myself to be taken advantage of.

Reflecting on the past, I realized that I had often been too accommodating, allowing others to exploit my kindness. This experience served as a wake-up call, reminding me to set boundaries and stand up for myself.

From that day forward, I focused on rebuilding my life and creating a supportive environment for myself. I surrounded myself with genuine friends and sought professional guidance to overcome the emotional scars left by the toxic relationships of the past.

Over time, I regained my confidence and learned to trust my instincts. I vowed to never let anyone manipulate or mistreat me again.

Although the encounter with Aunt Li and her son was a challenging experience, it ultimately empowered me to take control of my life and prioritize my own well-being.

And so, my journey of self-discovery and personal growth continued, as I embraced the lessons learned from the past and forged a brighter future for myself.
