Later, my sister came to see me again, and she had changed a lot.

When I saw her, she was leaning against a pink sports car, wearing a Chanel black low-cut tight dress, outlining her perfect and sexy figure.

Her face was delicately made up, her long hair was casually scattered, she wore the latest diamond necklace around her neck, and her wrist was shining with a Cartier bracelet.

"What's the matter with you looking for me?" I asked expressionlessly.

My sister didn't see the envy she wanted to see on my face and seemed a little unhappy.

Then, she took out a bag from the car and threw it into my arms, arrogantly saying, "I just bought this outfit, and I don't really like it. I'm giving it to you. But it's from a high-end boutique. One piece is worth ten of your clothes."

I looked at the bag in my arms indifferently and threw it back into her car with a disgusted look, saying, "Thank you, but I don't need it. I find things not bought with my own hard-earned money dirty."

"You, you don't know how to appreciate. I'm giving you the clothes because you're my sister," my sister scolded me angrily.

"Sis, I'm also giving you some advice as sisters. Taking shortcuts is not a good idea, or you might end up in a ditch," I said without looking at her, then turned and went back to school.

Time passed quickly, and before I knew it, I was in my final year of college. I was fully focused on preparing for the graduate entrance examination, while Julie had already finished her TOEFL and was about to fly to the UK. Wang Jie was also studying hard like me.

On Valentine's Day of the last semester of my final year, my roommates all went out to date their boyfriends, leaving me as the only single one.

During these four years, there were boys who pursued me, but I didn't feel anything. Perhaps my unrequited love for Cheng Nan was too deep, and it hurt my emotional roots.

Just as I was about to curl up in the dormitory and watch some dramas to relax, the phone rang, displaying an unfamiliar number.

I hesitated for a moment but decided to answer it.

"Hello."

"Where are you?"

It was Cheng Nan's voice on the other end of the line. Why would he call me?

"I'm in the dormitory."

"I'm downstairs in your dormitory. Can you come down for a moment?" His voice seemed to have a magical power that made it hard for me to refuse his request.

I quickly got dressed. Before leaving, I couldn't help but pick up Julie's mirror and take a look at myself.

As I walked downstairs, I saw Cheng Nan standing under a gingko tree. He stood there with his hands in his pockets, looking casual. The orange street lamp shone on his well-defined face, giving him a warm glow.

"What's the matter? Why are you looking for me?" I walked up to him and stood about a meter away.

"Do I have to have a reason to look for you?" he asked with a smile.

"That's not what I meant." I explained in a low voice.

"Are you the only one in the dormitory?" he asked.

"Yes."

"It's Valentine's Day today. No one asked you out?" he asked again.

How should I answer this question? If I say no, it would make me seem unpopular, but if I say yes, it would be a lie.

Just as I was hesitating about how to respond, Cheng Nan suddenly moved closer to me. His face was only a dozen centimeters away from mine, and I could smell a faint minty scent coming from him, a clean smell.

"Since no one asked you out, can I take you to the movies today?" he continued to entice me with his sweet voice.

I blushed, and even my ears felt hot.

I didn't understand why he was treating me like this. Summoning up my courage, I said, "I'm not your girlfriend. Valentine's Day is for couples to go on dates."

Hearing my words, Cheng Nan finally distanced himself from me a bit.

Just as I was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he pulled out a small black gift boxand handed it to me. "I know we're not officially a couple, but I wanted to give you something special for Valentine's Day," he said with a sincere expression.

I hesitantly took the gift box from him and opened it. Inside was a delicate silver necklace with a heart-shaped pendant. It was simple but elegant.

"I hope you like it," Cheng Nan said softly.

I was touched by his gesture. Despite my reservations about our relationship, it was clear that he cared about me.

"Thank you," I replied, my voice filled with genuine gratitude.

Cheng Nan smiled and said, "Shall we go to the movies now? It doesn't have to be a romantic date. We can just enjoy each other's company."

I thought for a moment and realized that I had been too guarded, letting my past experiences dictate my actions. Maybe it was time to let go and give this relationship a chance.

"Sure, I'd love to go to the movies with you," I said, returning his smile.

As we walked hand in hand towards the movie theater, I couldn't help but feel hopeful about the future. Maybe, just maybe, this Valentine's Day would mark the beginning of something beautiful between us.
