"Dr. Wen, please pour the wine."

As soon as the King of Qin finished speaking, the hall immediately returned to the previous cheerful atmosphere.

Everyone believed that the King of Qin seemed to be joking with his favored diviner.

Except for me, I widened my eyes and watched as the woman walked gracefully out from behind the King of Qin, taking the wine cup from his hand.

Hu Ji.

It was Hu Ji.

Although she had grown much older than I remembered and was wearing Qin-style attire, I still recognized her at a glance.

But now, she lowered her brows and eyes, humbly accepting the wine cup from the King of Qin, behaving as if she were a lowly maid from the former Chu palace.

She filled a cup of wine and came before me.

She handed me the wine cup.

"Dr. Wen, please drink."

She said.

Her voice hadn't changed.

It was still as clear and melodious as a spirit bird on a high mound.

But her gaze had changed.

I slowly reached out my hand and took the wine cup, locking eyes with her.

Her gaze told me that she recognized me.

I opened my mouth, wanting to say something.

However, she repeated, "Dr. Wen, please drink."

I could only raise my head and drink it all in one go.

That cup of wine seemed to be more intoxicating than all the wine I had consumed throughout the night.

After drinking it, I became muddled and disoriented.

I couldn't remember how Hu Ji took the wine cup from my hand and returned to the side of the King of Qin.

Nor do I remember how I returned to my seat or how I left the banquet.

All I remember is the King of Qin embracing Hu Ji with delight, announcing it to his courtiers.

She had already borne his child.
