Tonight, as usual, I was taking a shower in the bathroom, listening to music and humming along.

Suddenly, a loud scream came from my roommate's room.

I was startled.

Just when I thought it was my imagination, I heard several more screams and cries in succession.

I felt a strong sense of unease in my heart.

"Could it be that some criminal has come into the house?"

The security in this old neighborhood is not commendable, and we live on the 3rd floor. Although this is a society governed by law, it doesn't stop people who don't follow the rules from doing crazy things.

I was scared and didn't dare to go out. I decided to wait a little longer.

I didn't dare to turn off the music and the sound of water either. I was afraid that if I went out, I would be the next target.

Suddenly, the screams stopped, but I still didn't dare to go out, which made me even more panicked.

I approached the frosted bathroom door cautiously, wanting to listen to the noise outside.

"Bang."

Through the frosted door, I saw two figures collide with the door, leaving deep bloodstains.

I screamed and fell to the ground, trembling uncontrollably.

But the two figures outside the door seemed even more excited when they heard my voice. They continued to forcefully hit the frosted door, which was already shaky.

I forcefully covered my mouth, afraid to make any more sound.

Indeed, the banging outside became quieter.

Fortunately, my room is next to the bathroom, or in other words, all three bedrooms are next to the bathroom.

My room was partitioned off by the landlord from the living room, with a balcony as well.

I had to go back to my room, but I didn't dare to go out.

What should I do!

I tried to calm myself down and think of a solution.

Calling the police was definitely not practical. I only brought a Bluetooth speaker with me when I came to take a shower.

Yes, the Bluetooth speaker.

Whoever was outside might be sensitive to sound. Because when I screamed just now, they seemed to get even more excited.

Luckily, there was a small window opposite the bathroom door, and below the window was a small balcony connected to the kitchen. It was where I usually put the cat litter.

I rubbed my trembling legs and stood up, placing the Bluetooth speaker on the windowsill.

I didn't dare to throw it directly outside, afraid that I might be wrong.

Maybe because the distance between the door and the windowsill was very close, the two figures were still banging on the door. I was in a hurry and cried silently, not daring to cry out loud.

"Ah!"

I yelled loudly towards the outside of the windowsill, hoping that the figures would leave the bathroom door and go around to the living room, then from the living room to the kitchen, and finally to the small balcony in the kitchen.

The bathroom was enclosed in a concave shape by the corridor, living room, kitchen, and small balcony.

But I didn't know what was going on in their minds as they continued to relentlessly bang on the door.

Suddenly, I heard a cat meowing.

Nai Cha!!!

A stray cat I picked up, a three-legged stray cat.

The banging at the door stopped, and when I looked down from the windowsill, I saw Nai Cha running towards me, with two blood-covered people chasing behind her.

These two people were the two girls who lived in the room opposite the bathroom.

I was so scared that I threw the speaker towards the small balcony, and they actually pounced on it.

I quickly closed the small window.

After waiting for a while and making sure they had shifted their focus to the small window, I cautiously approached the bathroom door.

"Click."

I opened the door and walked out.

The floor was covered in blood, and the room across from mine was also covered in blood.

I didn't hesitate and quickly ran into my own room after taking three steps.

Nai Cha seemed to hear the sound of me opening the bathroom door and ran from the kitchen to my room. At the moment I locked the bedroom door, she slipped in too.

Ipaused for a moment to catch my breath and process what had just happened. It seemed that the two girls from the opposite room had somehow turned violent and were attacking each other. I wondered what could have caused such a sudden and terrifying situation.

I checked the lock on my bedroom door to make sure it was secure. I decided to call the police immediately to report the incident and request assistance. I dialed the emergency number and explained the situation to the operator, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

While waiting for the police to arrive, I tried to comfort Nai Cha, who was now hiding under my bed. She seemed frightened and confused by the chaos that had unfolded. I gently stroked her fur, assuring her that everything would be okay.

After what felt like an eternity, I heard sirens approaching. The police had arrived. I unlocked my bedroom door and cautiously stepped out to meet them. They quickly assessed the situation, ensuring that everyone involved was safe and secure.

It turned out that the two girls had been involved in a heated argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The exact details were unclear at that moment, but the police took statements from all parties involved and began their investigation.

As the night progressed, the police gathered evidence and interviewed witnesses, including myself. It was a long and unsettling process, but their presence reassured me that the situation was being handled.

Eventually, the police managed to separate the two girls and took them into custody. They were both injured and required medical attention. It was a tragic and shocking incident that left me shaken.

In the following days, I cooperated with the police investigation, providing any additional information or details that could help shed light on what had transpired. The incident served as a reminder of the unpredictability of human behavior and the importance of personal safety.

Over time, the neighborhood began to recover from the incident, and measures were taken to improve security and ensure the well-being of the residents. It was a sobering experience that made me appreciate the value of a safe and peaceful living environment.

As for Nai Cha, she became a constant companion and source of comfort during that period. I made sure she felt loved and cared for, appreciating the bond we had formed.

Life gradually returned to normal, but the memory of that fateful night would always remain with me, a reminder of the fragility of peace and the importance of staying vigilant.
