The entire East River is filled with broken ice debris. Not to mention catching fish, I couldn't even see a trace of fish.

I asked my younger sister, "Do you still want to eat fish?"

My sister stomped her foot and exclaimed, "I don't really want to eat fish! I just wanted to run away!"

I sneered, "Instead of staying together, you don't even want to be with our mother? It's surprising that our mother has always been so good to you. You truly are an ungrateful person."

My sister rolled her eyes after hearing that.

"I wasn't even worried, why are you so worried?"

Yeah, why am I worried?

Perhaps only those who have never experienced motherly love can truly cherish it.

My sister avoids our mother's love, while I long for it but cannot obtain it.

I asked my sister, "If you followed me, aren't you afraid that I'll drown you in the river right now?"

My sister snorted.

"If you wanted to kill me, you would have done it that night. Why wait until now?"

I said.

"Because that night would have been a murder, whereas today is just an accident."

...

My sister fell silent.

Then she said, "Actually, I don't dislike you."

Me, "?"

I burst into laughter due to anger.

From childhood to now, I'm the one who has been tormented, ignored, and humiliated.

And yet, I'm still the one who isn't disliked.

"I really..." I was so angry that I couldn't speak.

My sister looked at me as if she wanted to say something else.

But then she suddenly tiptoed and looked at me, her expression changing.

It seemed like she saw something extremely terrifying.

"Mother's here."

As soon as I heard that, I grabbed her and jumped into the river. By the time my sister realized what was happening, we were already submerged in the freezing cold water.

"What are you doing!" My sister shivered from the cold.

I said, "Trust me, I need to confirm something."

Without waiting for my sister to reply.

I pressed her head into the icy water.

My sister struggled desperately but only depleted the limited oxygen.

When mother arrived, my sister's face had turned pale and she was barely breathing.

Mother slapped me across the face and cursed at me.

"Beast! How could you treat your sister like this!"

I had never seen mother like this before, shedding tears and appearing so fragile, as if she could break at any moment.

I cried out loudly, "Mother! You only care about my sister and not me! I've had enough! Why does my sister receive your love, but I don't?"

Mother slapped me again.

My face went numb from the force of mother's slap, and I lost my sense of feeling.

Mother shouted with a hoarse voice, uttering words that I never expected.

"If your sister dies, who will save you in the future!"
