The ghost on the seventh night is the most vicious.

Before it was completely dark, my brother entered my room and sat on my bed.

He shook the empty bottle in his hand and said, "I'll tell you a secret."

"You were picked up by mom back then, with a wound on your head, and you didn't remember anything."

"I was the one who smashed it. With such a big stone, I aimed at your forehead and smashed it. People say that a child's forehead is fragile. I wanted to see if you would die."

"But you didn't die. Mom was afraid of being discovered, so she kept you at home. After all, you didn't remember anything."

"I heard that your parents went crazy looking for you. They were in the neighboring village, and I've seen them many times."

"That was really interesting. I heard that your mom was pregnant at the time and had a miscarriage directly from the scare. She never got pregnant again."

My brother's expression twisted with a sinister pleasure as he said these words.

I couldn't understand. How could someone enjoy tormenting others like this?

"I'm not your biological sibling, and neither is your sister."

I seemed to understand, as if I found solace.

Why did my mom never like me and my sister since we were young? Why did she always treat us differently, resorting to beatings and scolding?

Why did my mom not react at all when my brother took my sister's innocence?

Even my sister might have known she wasn't biologically related a long time ago, which is why she agreed to have a child with my brother.

Only I, foolishly unaware, was deceived for so many years.

"It's getting dark."

Time to apply the oil.

I instinctively reached out my hand, but my brother was faster than me.

He raised his hand and punched me, taking away the oil I had hidden.

He just told me all these things to disrupt my thoughts and make me relax my guard.

Then, when I was distracted, he fooled me once again, and I fell for it like a fool.

My brother didn't waste any of the oil. He applied a thick layer on his face and hands.

He also knocked the bottle a few times.

At the same time, the door banged open, and my sister stood at the doorway.

"Sister, why didn't you hide today?"
