My sister wasn't taken to my brother's room. Instead, she invited him into our room.

"Little sister, you don't mind, right?"

Our bed is the kind of large kang bed found in rural areas, capable of accommodating several people.

My brother and my mother stood at the door, staring at me intently. I could only nod.

"It's alright, I can go sleep in the kitchen."

My sister took hold of my hand. "Can you stay with me in the room?"

"Huh?"

My brother walked in and closed the door.

I squeezed myself into the corner of the wall, but I could still hear the noises coming from the other side.

It sounded like something poking into flesh, squelching sounds. I covered my ears, my face turning red.

"Er Niu, turn on the light."

I pretended to be asleep and didn't move, but a pillow hit my head firmly. "Hurry up, don't make me say it a second time."

The light turned on, and my brother's posture remained the same. What puzzled me was that he didn't take off his clothes.

My brother lifted my sister's leg, and one of his fingers was inserted into her leg, pushing through the gauze and creating a hole.

The layers of gauze on my sister's leg were cut open one by one. The deeper the gauze, the stickier it became, with red and yellow viscous liquid on top.

I could hear the sound of gauze tearing at flesh. My sister used her arm to prop up her upper body and sat up.

The last layer of gauze was unwrapped, and I covered my mouth, almost vomiting.

Her thigh was completely rotten, the flesh on her leg had turned black and purple, and the most severe part had a hole where yellow pus and blood were visible.

My sister had gone insane.

She screamed and used her hands to pick out the maggots. The wriggling maggots jumped and crawled all over the bed.

"Granny said my leg would be fine in two months! How did it end up like this?"

Some of the maggots were thrown onto my brother, and he stared at my sister, his tone filled with excitement.
