The village chief exclaimed, "Oh!" and called my mother, quickly lifting Grandma onto the car.

"How did this happen? Is it your stupid son again? Can't you control him properly?!"

"Do you know how many times I've cleaned up after you recently?"

My mother kept apologizing, her attitude extremely flattering, but her gaze kept darting towards our room.

I quickly spoke up, "My sister wants to go too..."

Before I could say the word "hospital," my mother pinched me hard and gave me a glare.

"What's wrong with Dani?"

"Nothing, it's nothing. Kids just like to join in the fun, so I won't let them come along."

"Let's go then? Let's hurry and take Grandma to the hospital."

My mother pushed the village chief towards the door, while I shouted to wait and ran back to the room.

"Sis, you were right. Mom really needs to go to the hospital. I'll carry you there too!"

"Are you okay? Why didn't you say anything..."

As soon as I pushed open the door, I was punched in the stomach and fell to the ground.

It was my brother. He was actually hiding in our room!

He looked down at me with disdain, stepping on my head with his foot, grinding it fiercely.

I was face down on the ground, unable to make a sound.

The village chief called a few times from outside, but left when no one responded.

It wasn't until the sound of the car outside faded away completely that my brother lifted his foot.

I trembled all over, curling up on the ground, afraid to move at all.

My brother sneered and lifted me by the collar, throwing me onto the bed.

"You're a fool who's being used as a pawn."

As my brother said these words, his gaze remained fixed on my sister.

My sister raised her head, trembling all over, her eyes wide with an incredulous look.

I didn't understand what they were playing dumb about, I just knew that my brother finally left.

He didn't hit us again.
