Ah..."

I abruptly woke up, sunlight streaming in through the window, shining on my eyelids, only then realizing it was a dream.

Cold sweat soaked my body, and I couldn't help but shudder.

That nightmare was too real, too terrifying, and I faintly felt a soreness on my cheeks.

"Yaoyao, it's time for breakfast!"

Hearing my mom's call, I suddenly froze, and faintly, I caught a whiff of that strange fishy smell.

I quickly threw off the covers and rushed to the balcony, looking down at the yard below.

I saw grandpa and grandma drying vegetables, mom chasing after my little niece to have breakfast, and my younger brother huddled in a corner playing games.

This scene was so familiar!

I looked into the distance and saw a burly man covered in blood, brandishing a kitchen knife, rushing towards my house.

"Mom... Mom..."

Unexplained fear filled my heart. At this critical moment, it felt like all the oxygen in my body had been sucked away. I trembled so much that I couldn't even shout, my limbs felt heavy as if they were filled with lead, powerless to move.

"Mom! Run!"

With what seemed like all my strength, I finally managed to shout.

The people in the yard all turned to look at me. At the same time, the burly man broke in, blood and flesh flying in all directions.

His face was covered in blood, his bloodthirsty eyes locked onto me, lying paralyzed upstairs. Then he swung his knife and charged towards me.

I struggled to crawl twice before managing to get up. In a panic, I rushed back to my room, and in my terror, I saw a glimmer of hope in a window. I headed straight for it.

"Where are you running?" he shouted and rushed towards me.

My foot slipped, and I fell out of the window, overwhelmed by fear to the point of suffocation. My head throbbed with pain, and I instantly lost consciousness.
