Xie Jiasen seems to be drunk.

He's lying in bed, burying his face in the pillow:

"A Zhi..."

I faintly hear him calling my name:

"I'm here."

But he can't hear my response at all.

I float to the kitchen, wanting to pour him a cup of hot water.

But no matter how hard I try, my hand can only pass through the middle of the cup.

Suddenly, there's a sound of the password being pressed at the entrance.

"Unlocking successful."

After the door is opened, a girl walks quickly into the living room, looks around, and then enters Xie Jiasen's bedroom.

"Xie Jiasen!"

I hover at the doorway, watching her help Xie Jiasen sit up.

Then, she runs to the kitchen and pours a cup of hot water for him, placing it by Xie Jiasen's side.

These seemingly ordinary little things are things I can no longer do.

Perhaps only at this moment do I finally realize clearly that there is an insurmountable barrier between Xie Jiasen and me.

Xie Jiasen struggles to open his eyes, looking up at the girl in front of him.

And in the next second, he forcefully pushes her a few steps away: "Li Miao? How did you end up in my house!"

Li Miao is stunned: "We had team training today, and you didn't show up all day. I was worried about you."

"I'm asking why you're in my house!"

Xie Jiasen's voice is very cold, frightening Li Miao: "I... I asked the coach for your home password, afraid that something might happen to you alone..."

Xie Jiasen shakes his head, as if trying to quickly sober himself up.

He stands up, trembling, and sits on the chair opposite: "Now you see, I'm doing fine. You can leave."

Hearing this, Li Miao's eyes well up with tears: "Xie Jiasen, even your girlfriend has abandoned you! Why can't you look at the people around you?"

"She didn't abandon me."

When saying this, Xie Jiasen's voice is extremely firm.

Then, he raises his hand and points in the direction where I am:

"She's right there, always by my side."
