The dormitory was quiet for a few seconds, and Zhang Lin burst into laughter.

"What's the matter? You guys didn't actually believe it, did you? I think this is just a prank played by those people from the School of Telecommunications."

She suddenly spoke, her voice loud, which startled me.

"Tsk, you're really timid! Hahaha."

I stood there helplessly, not daring to respond.

I didn't expect such a strange broadcast to suddenly appear on the first night back to school after summer vacation.

I looked up at Zheng Xinyue, who was on the bunk above me. She didn't say anything and had her head covered with the blanket as if she were asleep.

Zhang Lin picked up her toiletries from the table and walked to the dormitory door, nonchalantly pushing it open.

The dormitory door was made of iron, and the place where it connected to the door frame was rusted. It made a creaking sound every time it was pushed open.

A chilling breeze blew in from outside. I glanced outside with my arms crossed, and the corridor was completely dark, becoming increasingly pitch black the farther I looked.

This was unusual. Usually, even after the lights were turned off, there would still be a few lights on in the corridor to help students find their way at night.

Not only that, but it was eerily quiet outside, as if the entire floor was empty except for our dormitory.

"Zhang Lin, maybe you shouldn't go to wash up tonight. It seems like there's a power outage outside," I whispered, feeling a strange sense of unease in my heart, so I quietly reminded Zhang Lin.

"Hiss, this prank really seems like something they would do!"

Zhang Lin stood at the door, and just as she was about to step out, she hesitated and pulled her left foot back.

A flash of lightning outside illuminated the room for a moment, but it was still pitch black outside the door.

"Zhang Lin... Can you close the door? I'm a little cold," Zheng Xinyue suddenly spoke up.

"Xinyue, you're still awake? I thought you were asleep."

"Hmm, not yet... I'm a bit scared..."

I sighed. Xinyue was usually the most timid among the four of us.

Whenever Zhang Lin called everyone to watch horror movies together, she would cover her eyes and shrink behind the blanket.

The four of us...

Me, Xinyue, Zhang Lin, we were all in the dormitory.

What about Yu Shuang?!

"Wait!"

"Has Yu Shuang gone to wash up or not..."

Before I could finish speaking, there was a loud bang—Zhang Lin had already closed the door.
