I took the red solution for three consecutive days.

The daytime nurse was rough in her methods. Every time she came in to deliver the medicine, she would inject it into my arm, rendering me powerless to resist.

During the sample collection at night, her attitude changed, and we could exchange a few words.

From her, I learned that there are a total of 7 patients on this floor, and the other wards are empty.

Patients won't stay here forever.

The asylum won't provide us with free care until the end of our lives.

I asked the nurse, "What happens to the patients who leave?"

The nurse froze.

She said, "Disobedient patients are dealt with by the doctors."

I asked again, "And what about those who obey the rules?"

The nurse thought carefully, her eyes filled with confusion.

She remained motionless for a full three minutes.

Her pupils started to change, the black irises slowly turning white, her expression becoming stiff and eerie.

It was the first time I realized that the nurse might not be human.

Clearly, that part of her memory had been emptied.

If "amnesia" was her weakness... I thought of a way to escape.

On the fifth night during blood collection.

I continued to question her:

"How long have you been here? Do you live and eat in the hospital without going home?"

"What about your family? Don't doctors and nurses retire?"

"Do you have a salary? No phone, no contact with relatives or friends?"

The nurse stared at me in astonishment.

She froze, even forgetting to remove the needle.

Her once pitch-black eyes grew whiter, ultimately turning into a pair of cloudy white pupils, completely vacant.

I seized the opportunity and grabbed a syringe from the medical box, plunging it directly into her neck.

She seemed to feel no pain, not screaming or struggling.

I removed the needle from my wrist and stabbed her in the forehead.

A dark liquid gushed out of her wound, yet she remained indifferent.

How could a normal person bleed black?

She truly wasn't human.

I changed into her white coat, took off her nurse cap, and placed it on my injured head.

I grabbed her medical box, put on her mask, and left Ward 14.

Pretending to be a nurse, I entered the elevator and pressed the button for the 5th floor.
