"Let's get a divorce."

"Alright."

I agreed to my wife's request for a divorce.

I didn't want to drag my daughter into this.

"The house, savings, and our daughter will all be mine. You'll leave with nothing."

"You can have the assets, but not our daughter. I'm afraid your friend might mistreat her."

My wife wasn't surprised that I knew about her affair.

Because it was an open secret between us.

"He really likes Ranran. He'll make a competent father."

My wife didn't hesitate to praise her lover right in front of me.

I had seen that man once. He looked quite successful.

Dressed in brand names, driving a nice car, and very eloquent.

"That man is unreliable."

"You're just jealous! Jealous that you're not as good as him!"

My wife's words were filled with contempt for me: "Besides, in your current state, even if you're not in jail, you're a street rat. Can our daughter be happy with you?!"

Those words were deeply hurtful and highly insulting.

I had nothing to say.

Leaving my father-in-law's home, I aimlessly drove around the streets, realizing that despite the vast world, I had nowhere to go!

I couldn't go home.

I couldn't go back to the factory.

I didn't want to stay in a hotel and be gossiped about, so I just kept driving in circles.

Eventually, I found myself back in the most familiar place.

In front of the factory.

The news of my dismissal was already online, and the crowd that had gathered at the gate had already dispersed.

I gave a bitter smile and was about to leave.

Suddenly, I saw a lonely figure under the streetlight!

Ranran!

Why was my daughter here?

I hurriedly got out of the car and rushed over.

Since starting high school, my daughter had been living on campus.

She only came home once a month.

That was also the only time each month I stayed at home.

I always tried to maintain the façade of a harmonious marriage in front of her.

I really didn't know why my daughter was here.

It was so late; it was dangerous for a girl to be out!

Especially after a recent disappearance case!

My daughter ignored my questions and simply said something that brought tears to my eyes.

"Dad! No matter what others say, I believe in you! You're a good person! You would never do anything heinous!"

It's quite undignified for a father to cry in front of his daughter.

But I couldn't hold back my tears.

Just those words made all the grievances I endured for her worthwhile.

I turned my face away, avoiding eye contact with my daughter: "Dad's fine, really fine. Everything will be better in a few days."

My daughter had snuck out of school.

Just to cheer me up.

That night, we had a long conversation.

It turned out my daughter had really grown up.

She knew everything; she knew about the poor relationship between her mother and me, she knew about her mother's affair, and she knew about that man.

"Dad! If you want to get a divorce, just do it! Don't worry about my feelings!"

"I'll be with you!"

"I'll tell the judge!"
